Mainstream acts set to dominate ARIA Albums Chart, though
The Voice winner Harrison Craig took back the ARIA Album Chart number one spot this week, but will face a battle from new Robin Thicke and Pet Shop Boys releases next week, according to midweek figures, while a host of emerging local acts will make a play at the ARIA Singles Chart.
Craig's More Than A Dream just pipped Jay-Z's Magna Carta… Holy Grail last week thanks to stronger physical sales (Jay-Z has almost ten times the digital sales) and with a full week of sales under his belt this week Jay-Z will land another strong position. Likewise, Pink's mammoth tour will continue to push her back catalogue. Last week hew The Truth So Far album was at four, one above bullet-performing Greatest Hits… So Far!!!.
As well as Thicke and the Pet Shop Boys' best album in years, Craig's fellow The Voice contestants will pose a threat with Luke Kennedy, Celia Pavey and Danny Ross all dropping records.
Avicii's gap at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart shortened last week, although Wake My Up, featuring Aloe Blacc, still held a considerable lead. At this stage it's still an odds-on bet to retain the top position with current number two OneRepublic's Counting Stars, Miley Cyrus's We Can't Stop and Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell's Blurred Lines all nipping all amongst the top five.

Outside of the regulars, the midweek figures are also indicating a few moves from further down the chart though, with New Zealand's Lorde's The Love Club EP (currently 14), Matt Corby's Resolution (currently ten) and Vance Joy's Riptide (currently 17) all experiencing boosts.
That said, so is Naughty Boy's La La La.
