It's been a great few months for Melbourne's Vance Joy, the folk rocker's breakout single Riptide gaining Australia-wide recognition, with sales exceeding 35,000 and officially earning the title of certified Gold from Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA).

Taken from Joy's debut EP God Loves You When You're Dancing, Riptide brags a steady rise in popularity, hitting #1 on Hype Machine's Most Popular Chart only hours after being uploaded to Soundcloud, with triple j soon running with the tune allowing it to make its way to the iTunes Singles Chart and ARIA Streaming Chart reaching #12, before gaining commercial radio success and thus, its highest ranking position at #29 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

For those who have been living under a rock, here's the video for the gold-studded single.

It's been a hectic year for the Melbourne musician, following his signing to Atlantic Records, he has been touring the United States, and with no intention to slow down, the second half of the year sees a similar pattern, touring extensively in Canada, the States and back home in Australia.

This month, he will support Bernard Fanning on his sold-out Departures Tour, as well as hitting the Splendour In The Grass stage, before taking to the road for his own Riptide tour, with shows selling out, shows being added and tickets going out the door quickly.
