We’re streaming In A Warzone all week, though Skinhead Rob says there are no plans to come to Australia.

More Transplants More Transplants

Transplants are back in business with the release of their third LP – and first in eight long years – In A Warzone set for release later this week. You don't have to wait though, as we have it streaming in full all week long.

The rock/rap group is something of a perennial side project for Rancid's Tim Armstrong and Blink-182's Travis Barker, but that doesn't mean they're not an awesome band in their own right. Fans have been waiting a hell of a long time for this LP (they had initially indicated it might be out last year) and now that it's finally here, it's time to soak it up.

If you're looking to see the band live in Australia, your chance are sadly very slim indeed. When SPA's Ben Doyle spoke to Rob Aston a couple of weeks back, he indicated that, while the band would love to come, it just wouldn't be possible.

“Obviously, travelling abroad is kinda difficult for us being as though Travis was in a plane crash. That doesn't mean we wouldn't like to go Australia or go to Europe and Asia and everywhere else; all of us in the band would like to, Travis included. But it's just kinda gnarly for him to get on a plane because of what's happened.

“I hope that people, our fans can understand and respect it because I tell you what man, I went and stayed with Travis at the hospital when all that shit happened and I saw what he went through, and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy: the mental aspect of it, the physical aspect of it, none of it.

“So who knows, one day if Travis decides he wants to fly again I'll be right there next to him on a plane and we'll be in Australia, we'll be everywhere, but if he doesn't then he doesn't and people have gotta respect that and understand it.

“Try and put themselves in his shoes, because no one, nobody who has gone through what he's been through, 'cause he's the only survivor from that plane crash. And he didn't walk away from it unscathed, he has fucking skin grafts and burns all over his body, so I don't think anyone who's gone through what he's been through would be too quick to jump back onto a flight.

“But I never rule anything out when it comes to Travis or when it comes to Transplants because you never know. Travis continues to surprise me and inspire me daily and like I said, he might call me and say, 'Let's go to Australia'. Then fuck, I'm right there with him. But if he never decides to then I'm with him there, too. I respect whatever he does.

“And for the most part the feedback from everyone down in Australia and elsewhere has been pretty positive and they get it. There's always going to be a couple of dipshits, like, 'Oh, just get over it and get on a plane, or get on a boat'. Well, asshole, the boat is about 31 days each way, and it only goes fucking one time a year! So I don't think me and Trav are going to be spending the other eleven months just hanging out in Australia. As awesome as that would be and as fun as that would be, I'd get to see awesome bands like Kromosom and stuff play, but hey, nothing's ruled out and hopefully one day we can get down there.

“With that said, I'd like to thank everyone down there for always supporting us and understanding the situation that we're in and everything, and for [the] continued support for us; we definitely all appreciate it, I can tell you that right here and now, we appreciate the support and have got nothing but love for everyone down there.”
