Smaller boutique IDM parties will take place instead of the mammoth festival.
The Parklife festival will not be happening in 2013, the festival promoters Fuzzy have announced this afternoon, with a boutique event by the name of Listen Out set to happen in its place.
The new event is a party, not a festival, Fuzzy say, and will focus its energies on bringing the finest in intelligent dance music (IDM) from around the world to Australian shores, taking place in smaller venues than Parklife did and scaling back its operations in general.
Organisers promise a return to a relaxed party with fewer stages, timetable clashes and people as well as more of a focus on the substance, sound and style of the music.
The festival – sorry, party – will announce its line-up this coming Friday.
