The 'Vool are back and it's about damn time!

More Karnivool More Karnivool

Karnivool are well and truly back in action, the Western Australian hard rockeres today announcing that they have completed work on their third LP Asymmetry and will be heading around the country on a massive tour in support of it rather soon.

It is hard to believe that it has been a whole four years since the release of their third LP Sound Awake; the band have fit plenty in since that album dropped, including a fair amount of international travel that has helped bolster their profile in countries like the US, Europe and India (where they played a massive headline show at a 10,000 capacity venue). Tomorrow they will be playing the main stage of the Download Festival in the UK, in front of 120,000 people.

The band managed to get a fair bit of studio time in amongst it all though, with a number of weeks in a Byron Bay studio with Nick DiDia, an American producer famous for his extensive work with Brisbane's Powderfinger. What has resulted in a 14 track, 67 minute long LP that plenty of heavy music fans not just in Australia but around the world will be thrilled to finally hear.

The record will be released through Cymatic Records/Sony on Friday 19 July, though the first single, We Are, can be heard below!

The band head out on the road from the end of next month, with a stack of dates around the country, each of which featuring the band supported by Sydney metalcore masters (or galacticore or whatever you kids insist we call them these days) Northlane; who have had a fucking epic year already.

Dates are below, tickets are on sale from Thursday 20 June. The tour is proudly presented by Street Press Australia.
