We get up close and personal with the Melbourne MC.
In the latest edition of The Lulu Review, we get up close and personal with Melbourne's Mantra who reveals a few exciting things about the future and the past, as well as demonstrating some mad skills.
Early in the piece he mentions that he started his first rap group when he was in grade two of primary school. Though his memories as to what he rapped about are a little shaky.
“I have no idea; being late to class or something?” he says, before joshing, “We were pretty hot on the school circuit for a while there.”
Mantra reveals to Lulu that he gets pretty introspective on his new album, which is “pretty much ready”, and he proves it to us when he drops a kick-arse a capella rap at the end, which speaks about his general inhibitions while also referencing R.E.M. Great stuff.
