We can't wait until September.
The bulk of the annual Brisbane Festival's contemporary music program has been unveiled this morning with the program of acts playing The Spiegeltent – once again to be housed in South Bank's Cultural Forecourt – now all confirmed.
A mix of quality international and local acts once again make up the bill; previously announced shows from Gotye's The Basics and UK hip hop sensation Ghostpoet were a good start, but the program is now bulked up considerably with the addition of a raft of exciting artists.
For outside of Australia, acts like Calexico, Beach Fossils, Pantha du Prince and Ólafur Arnalds provide a variety of musical styles across the festival's duration, giving Brisbane the chance to see some forward thinking and exciting music in the stately makeshift venue.
The Aussie line up is nothing short of immense, with Emma Louise, Big Scary, Dick Diver, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Roger Knox, Russell Morris will both and Australian and Timor-Leste collaboration Doku Rai Band all involved in the 2013 program.

The cabaret of La Soirée is back after wowing all and sundry last year, Melbourne comedy troupe Fear of a Brown Planet will confound, offend and make you piss yourself with laughter, while kids can enjoy a childrens program that will feature a retelling of Treasure Island, the joyful (but noisy) Super Speedy Sound Shed, the funny and cute Lily Can't Sleep and the riotous Topsy Turvy.
Students of QUT will be back filling the Saturday afternoon slots, while quality jazz will be hosted in the venue each Sunday afternoon, programmed by Jazz Queensland. Speaking of jazz, Freeway - The Chet Baker Journey is a cabaret show that no fan of the great artist will want to miss.
What's perhaps most exciting is that the tent will this year be open until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights, a perfect place to party in style, we reckon.
