As well as more details on the much mooted Brew Am I beer.
Reissued versions of the legendary You Am I's first three records – Sound As Ever, Hi Fi Way and Hourly, Daily – are set to hit shops in just a few weeks, CD versions with new liner notes and crisp new mastering an exciting prospect for many fans of the group.
But, let's face it, we all wanted to know if they would be coming out on vinyl.
Today the band have confirmed that all three records will be issued as 180g vinyl records, specially mastered by Steve Smart for vinyl release, with gatefold sleeves featuring reimagined artwork; it's the kind of thing that You Am I fans have been waiting 20 years for. The LPs will be released in limited quantities in mid-July.
You may have heard earlier in the week that there would be a special You Am I beer released soon as well. Well Sydney brewers Young Henrys have given a few more details about that one as well. We'll let brewer and founder Richard Adamson explain more about the pale ale his company have designed.

“Capturing the spirit of You Am I in a bottle is a challenge, but one we feel equal to. Brew Am I is a new world pale ale clocking in at 5%, made with ingredients sourced from parts of the world that each band member calls home; rolled wheat from Tim and Rusty's western state, Davey's Victorian malt, and Andy's Kiwi hops all combine to make the perfect accompaniment to the band's music. Music that has inspired the brewers for many years.”
The band are out there on the road reliving some memories and showing us they're still the best damn rock'n'roll band in the country at the below dates.
