Neil Robertson has left Universal today

Neil Robertson, local manager of the Cooperative Music label, is leaving his post at Universal today to follow the label to the Mushroom Group's Liberator.

Launched in Australia in June 2011 as a division of Universal, the major label sold the imprint to independent company PIAS earlier this year as part of divestments made following their purchase of EMI. PIAS are distributed by Liberator locally.

Robertson told theMusic.com.au today that he'll become Liberator's Label Manager, which will involve handling Cooperative labels'. They include Bella Union, Kitsune, Mad Decent and DFA Records.

Tim Janes, who came from Shock to Co-Op upon launch, remains at Universal to lead their new Caroline division, which has labels such as Spunk, Popfrenzy and Resist. Also at Caroline are new label manager George Dalziel and ex-Bossy staffer Gabrielle Ryan, who is the national publicist for Caroline and Spunk Records.
