It's a band and arts space - with secure bike parking.
A new multi-purpose venue is to open in the back streets of the inner Melbourne suburb of Brunswick next week.
TheMusic was today given an exclusive walk-through of the converted warehouse venue, to be called Howler.
Situated in Dawson St, off Sydney Road, the venue is still abuzz with builders racing to complete the finishing touches ahead of next Friday's public unveiling.
A labour of love for Owner/Co-Designer Brendan Brogan, the site houses a beer garden, two performance spaces and intimate bar area.

Brogan explained the genesis of the project: “The original idea for Howler came about when local theatre artist (and Howler curator) Nick Casey and I were chatting about the need for a quality theatre and art space in the Brunswick area."
He added, "Over the past two years of design, planning and construction the base idea for Howler grew enormously. The theatre and art space remain, but with an added focus of music in all its forms."
Entry to Howler is gained from a car park, leading into a spacious beer garden - the emphasis is definitely on "garden" judging by all the plants and hanging vines, where punters will not only find towering steel 'trees' but an area to securely park their pushbikes.
Indoors, the bar area leads to two performance spaces. One, for smaller arts presentations and the other for theatre, events and gigs. The live performance area, which will launch in July, looks set for a 400 (standing) capactity.
Brogan emphasised the eclectic nature of the venue, "Howler will offer a diverse and quality booking roster, from the best bands and DJs to the highlights of fringe and comedy."
