Cat Empire, Airbourne, Jinja Safari also in the chart mix

After a five week stint at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart Michael Buble looks certain to be dethroned this week, with midweek chart figures indicated a number of high profile releases are gunning for the top five.

The inescapable new album from Daft Punk, Random Access Memories, is arguably the favourite for number one at this stage but there are also strong figures for The National's Trouble Will Find Me, The Cat Empire's Steal The Light and 30 Seconds To Mars' Love, Lust, Faith & Dreams – all of whom have Australian tour plans.

Airbourne's Black Dog Barking and Jinja Safari's Jinja Safari have hopes of a strong debut, but are currently sitting in behind some of the other releases. Despite the number of big names ahead of them, they both still have a chance at a top ten finish.

At time of publish Airbourne's album is number one on the iTunes Rock Album charts in the UK, France, Germany, Canada and Switzerland. Yesterday is was number one in Sweden and New Zealand as well.

The dark horse of the week is the Eurovision Song Contest – Malmo 2013 release, which had really strong sales early in the week. The numbers are expected to drop off as the week progresses though.

The ARIA Singles Charts are less volatile at this stage, with Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines featuring T.I. and Pharrell and Daft Punk Get Lucky featuring Pharrell holding down the one-two spots.

Bruno Mars' Treasure is making a late-week surge, however, as is Rudimental's Waiting All Night featuring Ella Eyre.
