The Day We Threw San Cisco Out Of A Plane

We were more scared than they were...

More San Cisco More San Cisco

It was essentially an impulsive decision to go skydiving with young Fremantle band San Cisco, when interviewing them in Western Australia a couple of weeks ago, but it happened and we've got the video to prove it.

The town of Jurien Bay, 220 kilometres north of Perth, was the location where three members of the band, one of our editors and one lucky fan went very, very high in the air - in a plane just nine metres long, then jumped to the ground.

We can report that the band's bassist Nick Garner and guitarist Josh Biondillo were very cool about the whole ordeal, certainly cooler than our editor who was scared shitless, though frontman Jordi Davieson seemed somewhat more apprehensive in the moments before the great leap.

We're pleased to report that it all ended well, though there were a few nervous moments when the pilot decided to do a corkscrew and then shut off the engine to create the illusion of zero gravity. But that just made hitting the ground that much sweeter in the end.

Our competition to skydive with San Cisco, and resulting video, was arranged, and produced, by the fine folk at Skydive Jurien Bay.
