The band played a secret show on the weekend with an incredible setlist.
As quickly as it was announced, the reformed Boomtown Rats' scheduled tour of Australia has been pulled due to poor ticket sales, it was announced recently. To add insult to injury to any Rats fan, details of the band's first show back, a warm up for their forthcoming appearance at the Isle Of Wight festival in June, have surfaced online and it's enough to make fans of the band want to weep.
Under the name Ratified, the band performed a full set at the Hurtwood Polo Club on Saturday night with a pretty impressive setlist.
According to this Boomtown Rats fan blog, it looked a little something like this (not in order).

The band's scheduled Australian dates, set to kick off in just over a week's time, were all to be held in rather large arenas around the country and ticket sales seemingly couldn't justify the tour going through.
It was to be their first visit to Australia since 1980, their heyday, where they played rooms like the Palais Theatre in Melbourne and Sydney's Capitol Theatre.
