They'll take control in December this year
AEG Ogden – one of the Asia Pacific's leading venue managers – has appointed six new executives posts as they prepare for the new International Convention Centre Sydney at Darling Harbour.
The announcement is lead by the appointment of Steve Hevern to a “senior role” in establishing the ICC, for which AEG Ogden won the contract to manage late last year. They'll take control of the venue's operation from 9 December 2013.
Hevern recently oversaw the opening of the Perth Arena as Interim General Manager and will move back to Sydney for the Darling Harbour post. He'll work closely with Director of Convention Centres and ICC Sydney Chief Executive Geoff Donaghy and Director of Design John Kleindienst – who is relocating from Brisbane to Sydney.
As a result, Western Australia venue and events veteran Michael Scott becomes the new General Manager of Perth Arena, working with Hevern for a hand-over for the next six weeks.
