The frontman announces his first solo album and a tour to coincide with it today.
While many reported that he had called last drinks with his internationally successful rock beast Wolfmother last week, Andrew Stockdale has today told fans that's not true as he announces details of his first album under his own name as well as a big tour to coincide with its release.
On Facebook this morning Stockdale said media had sensationalised his move to recording under his own name.
The record is called Keep Moving and is said to be “an honest exposé of Stockdale's poetic point of view within his day-to-day experiences and relationships with people”. It will be released through Universal on Friday 7 June.

The single comes from an EP released today, funnily enough sharing the same title as his forthcoming record. You can buy the full EP from here right now.
Calling time on the Wolfmother name was undoubtedly a big decision, but Stockdale has said in a statement that he wouldn't feel right releasing this music under that name.
“It was a name, a brand everyone knows. But I don't feel comfortable playing as Wolfmother,” Stockdale says. “When you write a song, what's on your mind comes out, what's in your heart and soul comes out. It's about your life experiences. I've been getting stuff off my chest, expressing ideas and experiences that are personal to me and I don't want to keep then applying that to the Wolfmother name. I had pressure on my shoulders.”
