All-Star Slim Dusty Tribute Leads Second Gympie Announcement

McAlister Kemp, Daryl Braithwaite, The Bushwackers all added as well

A huge number of new acts have been added to the 2013 Gympie Music Muster bill today, with some of Australia's most loved country and folk artists getting a run alongside the already awesome line up that has been assembled.

In its 32nd year running, the festival hosts a special tribute to the great Slim Dusty, called Missing Slim. Featuring the talents of Catherine Britt, Graeme Connors, Sara Storer, The Bushwackers, Jeff Brown, Anne Kirkpatrick, James Blundell and Colin Buchanan, the show will pay tribute to our greatest country music hero.

Also a part of 2013's festivities is an all-new New Zealand showcase called From Across The Ditch featuring Aly Cook, Billy TK Jnr, The Sou'Westers, Tami Neilson, Kylie Price, Kaylee Bell and Camille & Stuie French.

One more special presentation will be On The Road Again: Willie & Roy The Musical, a theatrical tribute to two monstrous stars of popular music.

As far as straight up acts added to the bill go, you've got McAlister Kemp, Daryl Braithwaite, The Bushwackers, Kevin Bennett, Greg Champion, Rick Price, Greg Storer and Dianna Corcoran.

In terms of bluegrass and bush music, there will be performances from the Hillbilly Goats, The Perch Creek Jug Band, Quarry Mountain Dead Rats, Simply Bushed and Round Mountain Girls.

The singer-songwriters added for this year is a real who's who of Australian country; Bill Chambers, Harmony James, Morgan Evans, Colin Buchanan, Kristy Cox, Lou Bradley, Brad Butcher, Jonny Taylor, Danny Widdicombe and Luke O'Shea.

Damian Howard & The Ploughboys, Luke Austen, Simply Bushed, Dianne Lindsay and Peter Simpson, Bec Hance, Peter Coad & The Coad Sisters, We The Ghosts, Dozzi and Forever Road are a few of the up and comers that will be getting their shot at Gympie.

Ex-Stylus-frontman Peter Cupples, roots artist Juzzie Smith and soul sisters Rose Bygrave & Marcia Howard close out this announcement.

The festival takes place at the Amamoor Creek State Forest Park from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 August. Tickets are available from the Muster website now.
