The back catalogue delving continues

More Gotye More Gotye

Gotye has dropped another animated video clip onto the internet, this time for the ten-year-old track What Do You Want?.

Ever since Somebody That I Used To Know became one of the internet's most-watched videos, Wally De Backer has had incredible internet pull. In the last few months – and with an Australian tour just around the corner – he's been using that clout to present tracks that wouldn't have received the high-end video clip treatment otherwise.

After Save Me and Giving Me A Chance from latest album Making Mirrors scored videos three months ago (probably wrapping up that album's singles in the process), in October Like Drawing Blood's (his 2006 album) instrumental track Seven Hours With A Backseat Driver came to the fore with an animated video from Rubber House. On the same day a Making Mirrors b-side Dig Your Own Hole landed with an animated video from Saiman Chow.

Last night De Backer delved even further into his back catalogue, and opened up What Do You Want? to 'single fans' with an animated video by Lucinda Schreiber.

Each of these videos racked up thousands of views virtually instantly (over 150,000 for both the October vides), and Gotye's team might not have another opportunity like this to push his back catalogue to new fans.
