Veteran songwriter Paul Kelly and emerging death-core band Thy Art Is Murder were among the Australian debuts into the top 50 of the ARIA Albums Chart this week.

With pop-country superstar Taylor Swift's Red knocking Pink's The Truth About Love from the top spot, Kelly's first studio album in five years – Spring & Fall – debuted at eight, one ahead of Lee Kernaghan's Beautiful Noise. Gyspy & The Cat's second album The Late Blue landed 23.

Sydney's Thy Art Is Murder, who streamed their album on theMusic.com.au last week, landed at 35 with Hate (the strong debut predicted earlier this week), one ahead of Gary Clark Jr's Blak And Blu, the latter returning to Australia next year for Big Day Out. Archie Roach landed at 49 with Into The Bloodstream.

Other debuts came from X-Factor's Reece Mastin, who debuted at three with Beautiful Nightmare, Swedish House Mafia at 12 with Until Now, Stone Sour at 13 with House Of Gold & Bones Part 1 and Alt-J's with An Awesome Wave at 44.
