EXCLUSIVE: Indie Award Label Nominees Revealed

The nominees for the Jagermeister Independent Music Awards' Best Label category have been announced, with five labels to compete for the inaugural title.

The category is new for the 2012 awards and covers the period of 2011/2012. Over AIR label members were asked to vote for the category and they've determined the five nominees for the category:

Elefant Traks – Sydney hip hop 'collective' who've released albums from The Herd, Urthboy, Sietta, The Last Kinection and Sky'High in the past year.

I Oh You – Melbourne based and part of the Mushroom Group, boasts a roster with DZ Deathrays, Bleeding Knees Club, Snakadaktal, Violent Soho and City Calm Down

Inertia Recordings – Label arm of Inertia Music, this year's releases have included The Bamboos and Dappled Cities

Jazzhead – Leading jazz label who have had a nominee in each of the Independent Music Awards since inception

Stop Start Music – Home to Ball Park Music, Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Millions and North East Party House

The awards will take place Tuesday 16 October at Revolt, in Kensington Victoria. They will feature performances from Paul Kelly amongst others.
