English acoustic punk troubadour Frank Turner has admitted he's wary about recording his new album in America - particularly the porn star girlfriend and cocaine that comes with it.

In an interview with theMusic.com.au today, Turner said, "I was a little wary, and I still am a little bit, about recording in the USA.

"It's such a cliche - 'English band does reasonably well, ends up recording in America, gets porn star girlfriend, a Cadillac and cocaine problem,' which is not what I want to do.

In the soon-to-be published interview Turner also discusses performing at the Olympic opening ceremony, despite not being "a nationalist or a patriot", and having his personal politics attacked.

His new album will be recorded with Rich Costey and should be released March 2013, to coincide with his Australian tour around the Byron Bay Bluesfest.
