Sydney To Host Electronic Music Conference In ARIA Week

The two-day event will be part of ARIA Week

Sydney is set to host the Electronic Music Conference this November as part of the ARIA Awards' ARIA Week. Claimed to be the host the first dedicated electronic music conference in the Asia-Pacific, details of the conference were announced this afternoon.

Run in conjunction with Sound Alliance, the conference will host artists, managers, industry, promoters and media across industry panels and keynotes Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 November. The conference is the first announcement from the ARIA Week program, a week's worth of events which will lead up to the awards ceremony.

Today ARIA CEO Dan Rosen told theMusic.com.au that the ARIA Week, “Was developed as we discussed ways in which we could leverage our flagship event - the ARIA Awards – to shine a week-long spotlight on our local industry and firmly put the last week in November on the global map as the definitive showcase of the Australian music industry to the rest of the world.”

He added that, “As part of the week's events, we hope to provide insight into the industry, bring together international guests, showcase the great things the industry is doing and provide a stage for up and coming acts that we hope to see winning ARIA Awards in the coming years.”

ARIA Week will begin Sunday 25 November, with events taking place each day in the lead up to ARIA Awards Thursday 29 November. The full schedule will be released with the nominations Wednesday 3 October.
