And Brisbane gets a brand new venue.

More Jimmy Buffett More Jimmy Buffett

Jimmy Buffet, the Hawaiian shirt-wearing, margarita-drinking man himself, has today announced two exclusive acoustic Australian shows - one in Brisbane and one in Melbourne.

The first time he will play in Brisbane for 20 years, Buffet will be taking to the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens and it will be the first time a gig has been hosted there.

Today promoter Michael Chugg said, "You can't beat spring weather in Queensland, so to secure such a unique experience for fans, in the outdoors, in a beautiful garden setting in the middle of town, is a great coup.

“We'll have reserved seats, which include Sundowners On The Deck and General Admission On The Lawn tickets in Brisbane."

Buffet will then head down to Melbourne's Palais Theatre.

Parrotheads are known to start conga lines in the aisles and don all manner of seafaring attire for Buffett shows, and these laid-back performances will see that once again.

He will be joined by friend and co-writer Mac McAnally for the shows.

Friday 21 September - Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, Brisbane
Sunday 23 September - Palais Theatre, Melbourne

The last time Buffett was in Australia - January 2011 - he played just two Sydney shows, the second of which ended somewhat abruptly after the singer fell off the stage and was rushed to hospital during his final encore.

Tickets on sale Wednesday 5 September at 9am, Chugg Entertainment members pre-sale prior.
