BIGSOUND Announces Schedule, New Speakers

The schedule for this next month's BIGSOUND industry conference has just been revealed, with a few changes to the way the event has operated in the past being implemented for 2012.

As well as the schedule, a couple of new names have been added to the speaker list for this year's event with Rdio's Scott Bagby, Richard North from Google/YouTube and The Tea Party frontman Jeff Martin three big names added. They will be giving their expertise alongside so many experts from just about every known aspect of the music industry, who will be speaking over three days in Brisbane early next month.

The Friday program is very different this year, with just four sessions being held, each of them keynote speeches from the Australian artists who have been previously announced; Clare Bowditch, David Bridie, Ian Haug and Ben Lee.

Apart from that you've got panels that cover everything from Canadian music to making the most of your first recording to country music to indie labels and so very much more, as well as keynotes from the legendary Steve Earle and EMI's Mark Poston.

The parties are always among the most talked about aspect of BIGSOUND and that looks like it may well be the case in 2012 once again with everyone from Virgin Australia, Fuse Festival, OzTix, A-Venue, EMI, Permanent and Halfcut Records and New Zealand Music all throwing big bashes for delegates, while lunchtime performances curated by SoundsLikeBrisbane and Chugg Entertainment/DMand will keep everyone entertained in between sessions.

The biggest shebang of the week will once again be the closing party on the Thursday night, hosted by Street Press Australia (publishers of theMusic.com.au) and Create/Control.

You'll have to hurry if you want to be a part of this year's event, organisers have told theMusic.com.au that there are just 50 spots left for BIGSOUND 2012
