Alpine and Adam Brand both have good early support

Melbourne indie-pop six piece Alpine are shooting for the ARIA Album Chart top 50 this week, according to midweek figures. (You can read our review of the album here.)

They, along with country star Adam Brand, have received good early support from the music buying-public and should both crack the 50 milestone if the scans keep tracking at the same rate. Alpine's album A Is For Alpine peaked at number one on the iTunes charts earlier this week.

Neither, unfortunately, are in with a shot for the top spot, which will likely be fought out between current number one Ed Sheeran with + and The Voice's Karise Eden with My Journey. Fun. are not far off the pace though and neither is the soundtrack to The Sapphires which could be building towards a top three challenge.

Aussies have a hold on the Singles Chart at the moment, currently thanks to Justice Crew's Boom Boom. The midweek trends suggest that week's challengers are going to be locals as well, with Guy Sebastian's Battle Scars a new entry while Delta Goodrem's Dancing With A Broken Heart is not to be overlooked as an outside chance.
