More Muse More Muse

British post-rock lords, Muse, have released a brand new single from their forthcoming record The 2nd Law, that doubles up as the official song for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The single is called Survival, and though it may initially provoke a bit of giggling due to its unashamedly 'winning' references, linking it to the competitive nature of the Olympics, it eventually builds into a typically Muse-esque (read: very epic), rock-opera style tune. Give it a listen for yourself!

Survival is quite similar to Muse's latest offerings on 2009 record The Resistance, which divided the views of fans, but also recruited a larger and broader audience. Prior to their orchestral-based work, the band released the stunning Black Holes And Revelations in 2006, Absolution in 2003, Origin Of Symmetry in 2001 and Showbiz in 1999.
