Andy Falkous encourages fans to read review "if you'd like to hear about our album as represented by the fingers of a constipated horse".
Often outspoken, nearly always witty Andrew Falkous of Future Of The Left has hit out at popular online music tastemakers Pitchfork after a lukewarm and somewhat personal review of the band's latest album The Plot Against Common Sense appeared on the site today.
Falkous took to twitter this afternoon, Australian time, to give his opinion of the review as well as the album.
Read the Pitchfork review - online now - if you'd like to hear about our album as represented by the fingers of a constipated horse.

I am genuinely very sad that thousands of people will read a review which misrepresents our labour of love so completely and utterly...

... and will continue to do so until later this afternoon when I emerge from the bath, panting.

The reviewer, Ian Cohen, gave the album a score of 6.0 (out of ten), though had a number of comments about Falkous' songwriting, the general notion being that his penchant for witty lyricism and overall songcraft skills had diminished over the years.

Of the song Robocop 4: Fuck Off Robocop, Cohen said:
"I can say with a fair degree of certainty that 2012 will not see a more stupendously awesome song title or a worse song attached to it."
To which Falkous replied:
I genuinely think we've made our best album- particularly lyrically - and that 'robocop 4 - fuck off robocop' is the pick in that sense.

but then again, I also believe in factor 30 sun cream and the notion of chivalry.
