Perth's On The Bright Side festival, the event run by Splendour In The Grass producers Secret Sounds, will not be taking place this year.

The event, which generally features a handful of the larger acts from the Splendour bill at a low ticket price, will not be taking place due to “conflicting artist schedules”, a statement on the festival's Facebook page reads this morning. Last year's event featured the likes of The Hives, Pulp, Foster The People, Modest Mouse, The Kills, Tame Impala and The Grates

The short statement from festival organisers finishes on something of a positive note, however, closing with “we hope to see you with another cracker in 2013."

A number of Splendour sideshows have been announced since the festival's sell-out last month and rumours of a possible second event elsewhere in the country are abound.
