Solar eclipse gets seven-day music festival

This is the "very authentic location".
May 1st 2012 | 3:38pm | Daniel Crichton-Rouse
A total solar eclipse is due to take place this November, and in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday 14 in Northern Australia will be the magical moment when we can all take a moment to peer through the pin-pricks in our cardboard cups. So it'd make for a pretty special atmosphere if you were, you know, at a music festival, right?

A seven-day (!) music and arts festival from the organisers of Rainbow Serpent, Symbiosis (USA), and Glade Festival (UK) is going to be held in Cairns to celebrate the solar eclipse.

Eclipse 2012 will take place Saturday 10 November to Friday 16 in Cairns at "a very authentic location", and will boast a line-up heavy on trance, techno, broken beats, chill, roots, reggae, and gypsy. Those already announced (mainly trance at this stage) are:

Perfect Stranger  (Digital Structures, Iboga, Israel)
Atmos (Digital Structures, Sweden)
Tipper (Tipper Music, UK)
Dnox (Sprout Music/Plastic Park, Germany)
