Playing his 'greatest hits', he will visit the following venues:
Friday 11 May - Allphones Arena, Sydney
Monday 14 May - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Friday 18 May - Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
Tickets for the shows will go on sale Monday 16 April through Ticketek. There is no public pre-sale. Tickets will start at $99 and are likely to move extremely quickly, especially considering his track record in New York and London where he did runs of sold-out arena shows.
Prince has been rumoured to tour Australia for years, with various festivals linked to the music icon, but a visit hasn't eventualised since his last visit in 2003. This will be the third time that he has toured Australia and the tour is presented by the Van Egmond Group and Chugg Entertainment.
The music itself needs little introduction, tracks like Purple Rain and When Doves Cry have become iconic in themselves.
This tour will see Prince bring his full arena production to Australia with a 360-degree stage.
Veterans lead this week's releases with new albums from Tim Rogers & The Bamboos (Album Of The Week) and Daniel Johns plus albums from Ella Thompson, The Vaccines and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
