The move by the multi-national is set to shake-up the touring scene.

Live Nation Entertainment have bought leading Australian concert promoter Michael Coppel Presents presents in a move sure to shake up the Australian touring scene. The news confirms Live Nation's commitment to the Australian market, after launching last year.

The existing Live Nation structure will be renamed Live Nation Australasia, with Michael Coppel set to become the business' President and Chief Executive Officer. Existing Live Nation Australia executives Luke Hede and Roger Field will continue as Vice Presidents - Promotions.

Today Live National's global President and CEO Michael Rapino said, "We have worked with Michael Coppel on a number of tours over the years and are now extremely pleased to be welcoming such a well respected and successful promoter into our international network.”

Referencing the recent IFPI annual report he added, “Australia is the 6th largest music market in the World and an increasingly important touring market for international artists. It represents a significant part of our opportunity for international growth.”
