It caps off a great year for the Aussie comic.

More Adam Hills More Adam Hills

The reign of Aussie comedian Adam Hills is continuing overseas with news coming through overnight that he has picked up three nominations in the 2013 British Comedy Awards. It's equal to the most nominations of any comic this year, with Count Arthur Strong (and its creator Steve Delaney) also up for three gongs.

Hills is in the running to win Breakthrough Artist and Best Comedy Entertainment Personality, and his show The Last Leg is up for the Best Comedy Entertainment Show award.

It caps off another highly successful year for Hills, who scored wide praise online after his attack on Joan Rivers (following her attack on UK singer Adele), which he made on The Last Leg at the beginning of the year, went viral.

Hills, who hosts Adam Hills Tonight on ABC TV in Australia, has decided to take a step back from his hosting duties as he and his wife expect their second child and he recharges his batteries and allows himself the time to come up with a stack of new hilarious ideas.
