PREMIERE: Youth Allowance - 'Running'

Brissy-bred upstarts Youth Allowance have made great strides in the relatively short period of time they've been together, having already racked up some solid live-performance hours and achieved strong results (like, top-10 strong) on the triple j Unearthed Indie Chart with their cuts GAMES and Morning Light.

All the experience the band has garnered over the past couple of years is made manifest with their newest cut, Running, taken from their forthcoming debut EP. In keeping with the themes established so far by the fledgling outfit, it's a jangly, danceable jindie-rock tune of crisp melodies, sharp hooks and evocative of the kind of sounds favourted by city-mates Last Dinosaurs, or pre-Beck-Lite-era Jungle Giants.

The band recently finished laying down all the tracks for the EP, which they recorded at Airlock Studios alongside seasoned desk-master Yanto Browning (The Jungle Giants, The Medics, Yves Klein Blue), and is currently slated for release in October.

To keep tabs on what the rising outfit is up to in future, head over to their Facebook page and swing them a big ol' thumbs up to usher in the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
