One Day you won't forget

More One Day More One Day

One Day live by the mantra of a party. The ‘One Day Sundays’ session lives at the core of what they do and for the seven people in this collective, they know how to bring that party to the people in a way that makes you feel like you’re part of it.

Jayteehazard is part of the party. He is the resident DJ for the Elefant Traks crew and a constant feature on the Sydney and Newcastle circuit. Couple this with the recent release of his second EP, Red Shift, and you have a guy that doesn’t stop. It’s no wonder he gets a lot of work though. His beats are polished, precise and pumping. Everything a good party needs.

The smile of the man from Shepparton, Briggs, is infectious as he gives the Sydney crowd a taste of his Sheplife album, prowling the stage like a hungry predator. The crowd join in, roaring back the lines to Bad Apples and The Hunt. A guest appearance from Joyride was received with hearty applause.

This is the homecoming for One Day. Their heart and soul is Sydney and they want us to know it. The collective are not afraid to put their new songs front and centre on this, their second tour. Brand new, Oh Lord, kicks off the night as Solo, Nick, Jimmy, Kai and Joyride seamlessly roam the stage, mics in hand. Adit (mostly on keys) and Raph (still dressed at this point) provide the slick beats and enjoy their view over the crowd at the Metro which, if it wasn’t sold out, was pretty bloody close.

More emphasis on the group was evident this time around. Most of the tracks from their debut opus, Mainline, appeared, with SDRO and Love Me Less being highlights. Brand new ‘LATW’ song, Scribe’s Not Many, was performed to a huge bouncing cheer. Whilst the individuals threw out their tracks, tonight was about the group we’ve grown to know and love. Another page in the History of One Day was written tonight and as always, we were a big part of it.
