Weird but wonderful

More Nicholas Allbrook More Nicholas Allbrook

Good luck trying to see.

The small side band room at old school pub The Underdog is absolutely crammed as Pond frontman Nicholas Allbrook plays his first solo show in these parts. As you'd expect he has a twisted but compelling muse, up on stage with just his guitar and back-up in the form of programmed beats and samples.

Given that we can only see the top of his bleached blonde head from the back of the room it's all about the music, which is like twisted Bowiesque singer-songwriter fare with weird narratives and off-kilter arrangements - no one will ever be able to accuse this guy of not matching to the beat of his own drum (machine). Weird but wonderful.
