Album Review: The Plot In You - Dispose

Wow, this band have certainly disposed of their original sound and taken a rather large step out into left field on this, their fourth album.

Core fans may be a little taken aback initially by the radical change, but if they dismiss it and don't pay it its due, they will be depriving themselves of the many highly enjoyable musical delights inherent in the grooves of Dispose.

Completely eschewing their traditional, grinding metalcore sound, The Plot In You have crafted a fabulously left of centre but super-catchy rock album that is certainly still heavy at times, but attempts a whole bunch of brand new moves, pulling virtually every one of them off with aplomb. The album is choc-full of ripping rock tracks, with the highlights being the symphonic but powerful and dramatic One Last Time and schizophrenic closer Disposable Fix, which takes the listener across diverse soundscapes and moods, and packs a hefty and varied punch across its near-four-minute length. Frontman Landon Tewers' voice really shines here, but then weak moments are very few and far between.

Existing fans are advised to listen to this with an open mind, while new listeners should reasonably be expected to flock to Dispose in droves.
