"Tell their legion of imitators they're going to be playing catch-up a while longer."
Like blues musicians of old, Converge have only grown more salty and combustible as time marches mercilessly on.
The Dusk In Us is not as fast or single-mindedly vicious as say Jane Doe, but they've absolutely mastered their noise and have rarely sounded as soul-crushingly desperate as they do here. The slow grind of Under Duress is mentally lacerating, Eye Of The Quarrel equally devastating, while A Single Tear pulls their evolving songcraft in ever-edgier directions. Tell their legion of imitators they're going to be playing catch-up a while longer.
