"Quintessentially a Dappled album."

More Dappled Cities More Dappled Cities

Rumours that Dappled Cities had called it quits were exactly that, as the Fly have just dropped their latest LP.

Dave Rennick explained, "We just stopped playing for a while... Babies and adulthood got in the way a bit. I don't think Dappled will ever break up. I don't see the point." Recording took place at the now defunct 301 Studios in Byron Bay, and although less inner-city sounding, IIIII remains quintessentially a Dappled album, with nods to The Go-Betweens and Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. The mood is one devoid of expectation and shifts between topical '70s funkadelic (Stone Men), the whimsical (Weightless) and the wisdom that comes with years of making music.
