"...instantly recognisable as a Swans work with its panoramic epics and brutal crescendos."

More Swans More Swans

In the age of tweets, microwaved food and three-word sloganeering, at least there's one act who isn't afraid to test your patience.

Yet another two-hour, two-disc release with three tracks longer than 20 minutes, The Glowing Man is instantly recognisable as a Swans work with its panoramic epics and brutal crescendos. What's new is a certain dreamlike quality on the likes of the hypnotic Frankie M., whose spiritual, trance-inducing passages could be used to soundtrack an outer-body experience over the Mojave Desert. The adventure continues.
