"The late '80s vibe with blazing guitars, suspended keys and pent-up attitude run rife..."

More Bleached More Bleached

There could be no sound more embedded with the glitzy, trashed heated vibe of California than that produced by girl punk trio Bleached.

Their second record delivers it in spades, and this time around there's more pessimistic grit spouted from singer Jen Clavin. At times the lyrics are a little vacuous ("I can't keep wasting my emotions on you/getting high on a drug I call you" in Wasted On You, for instance) but the late '80s vibe with blazing guitars, suspended keys and pent-up attitude run rife in Keep On Keepin' On, Sleepwalking and Wednesday Night Melody, the Joan Jett-esque gem of the 10-track wonder.
