Album Review: Nada Surf - You Know Who You Are

The eighth album by NY alt-rock veterans Nada Surf once again features Guided By Voices alum Doug Gillard on guitar, swelling their ranks to four.

The arrangements become more expansive but there's still plenty of breathing room, and as ever tunes like building acoustic lament Animal, the languid Rushing and the driving title track are beholden to Matthew Caws' dreamy croon and lovelorn worldview. It's a cohesive and cruisy listen, playing to their inherent strengths: robust power pop chops, sugary harmonies and that easy, affable charm.
