Album Review: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Paper Mache Dream Balloon

Maintaining their inexhaustible "two albums a year" output while touring more or less constantly, Paper Mache Dream Balloon stands out in King Gizzard's catalogue as a moment of clarity between acid-inspired freakouts.

No electricity here, but there's plenty of mellow, countryside folk whimsy, weird enchanted tales and oboe flourishes. It may disappoint those wanting — nay, demanding — frenzied, 16-minute jams, but it's an inspired entry in what's developing into one of the most diverse and least predictable catalogues of modern times.
