Album Review: Jean Michel Jarre - Electronica 1: The Time Machine

Legendary producer Jean Michel Jarre gets by with some help from his friends on his 18th studio album, all of whom are heavyweights in electronic music.

The mere mention of names like Vince Clarke, Laurie Anderson, Tangerine Dream, John Carpenter and even Pete Townshend will have aficionados drooling but star turns from the likes of Fuck Buttons, Gesaffelstein, Air and M83 would pique anyone's curiosity. Unsurprisingly, they largely support Jarre's unending quest for melodic electronic music perfection and dreamy synthetic atmospheres that come in shades of trance, techno and electro, all of which he's had a hand in pioneering.
