Album Review: Editors - In Dream

"In Dream is perhaps the album he may well have made had he lived to a third record."

Those pesky Joy Division comparisons continue to yap at the heels of Editors thanks to singer Tom Smith's ever forlorn vocals on their fifth.

Seemingly carrying on Ian Curtis' alleged passion for Kraftwerk, In Dream is perhaps the album he may well have made had he lived to a third record. It's gloomily electronic yet as anthemic and crepuscular as they've ever been. Life Is A Fear is the grown -up version of MGMT's Kids while 'cigarette lighter aloft!' closer Marching Orders is a dead ringer for Icehouse's Crazy. These men in pencil suits' dreams remain familiarly lucid.
