Album Review: Dam-Funk - Invite The Light

"'80s-inspired electro-funk with a West Coast flavour."

Invite The Light is the first LP in six years from LA funk guru Dam-Funk, and according to a recent tweet he's been working on it for almost as long.

His sound is still '80s-inspired electro-funk with a West Coast flavour: fat bass, squeaky synths and all kinds of futuristic bleeps you can't get enough of. The beats gradually wash over you so that before you know it you're locked into the slow groove of each song and then completely transported by it. G-funk is still a ridiculous term, but its sound is pure pleasure. This is it.
