"Dre has created a brilliant, widescreen synopsis of his beloved city."

More Dr Dre More Dr Dre

After 15 years spent toiling on the follow-up to his 1999 classic 2001, hip hop's first billionaire Dr. Dre needed a circuit breaker.

It finally came in the form of new NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton. Suddenly inspired, he binned the mythical 'Detox', went back to his roots and created Compton: A Soundtrack, his 'grand finale'. Featuring a host of West Coast legends including Kendrick Lamar, Snoop and Ice Cube, Dre has created a brilliant, widescreen synopsis of his beloved city. Sonically there are nods to current trends yet tracks like the burning Genocide further justify Dre's reputation as one of hip hop's greatest ever producers.
