Album Review: Taipan Tiger Girls - 1

This Melbourne trio features the talents of influential synth guru Ollie Olsen, guitarist Lisa MacKinney and drummer Mat Watson.

Together they produce a wild, over-sized wall of industrial drone and noise that intimidates with its intensity but sucks listeners in with the incessant chug of driving beats. MacKinney deals mind-numbing guitar drones that are heavily processed while Olsen chips in with harsh synth tones that feel like the blades of a helicopter slicing and dicing the air overhead. Their highly recommended sound is a monster kosmische grind that writhes and hypnotises as it drills itself into your head.
