"Aside from the admirably deep groove and warm undercurrents of Amlochley, Hive1 feels incomplete without the intoxicating visuals."

More Tyondai Braxton More Tyondai Braxton

Having spent the last six years composing and violating various avant-classical works, Braxton (formerly of math-rock figureheads Battles) is dragged back into the marketplace with the release of these mostly electronic instrumentals composed for a performance work at New York’s Guggenheim Museum of Modern Art.

YouTube footage of that event shows Braxton’s chilly electronica in its intended environment, set against aqua-purple lights and the sensual spiral curves of the Guggenheim itself. Aside from the admirably deep groove and warm undercurrents of Amlochley, Hive1 feels incomplete without the intoxicating visuals.
