"Merriment and melancholia coalesce in standout tracks 'Shameless', 'I Can’t Return' and 'In Time', delivering a glisten and gleam"

Released Stateside last year, Immigrant Union’s second album, Anyway, is now available to Australian audiences.

Frontman Brent DeBoer (The Dandy Warhols) has further refined the songwriting acumen hinted at on previous releases, resulting in a mature, confident album of jangly gems. Merriment and melancholia coalesce in standout tracks Shameless, I Can’t Return and In Time, delivering a glisten and gleam second to few within the genre. Though at times difficult to escape aesthetic parallels with previous works by Dandys and IU alumnus Courtney Barnett, Anyway is a clear embodiment of a sound, message and direction unequivocally unique.
