More Breaking Orbit More Breaking Orbit

Jazzy bass jams, multi-album concept, and “-ion” suffixed title.

The second release from Breaking Orbit ticks so many prog boxes it’s surprising how catchy it is. Slick production brings an absolutely massive sound, with just the right amount of variet between tones without becoming jarring. Vocally, Matt Quayle steers clear or anything too complicated. While certainly not the most thrilling part of the record, anything more may have been unwelcome given the enormity of the instrumentation. A few tracks have some pretty fun hooks, but this isn’t for casual listeners – a prog record for prog fans.
