"'Constant Bop' is the sound of one man enjoying a second lease of life away from his day job"

Here’s an unexpected groovy treat.

Singer James Petralli takes a break from White Denim to conjure up this irresistibly funky statement packed with ‘70s sophisto-pop sensibilities and weekend vibes. Unshackled by expectations of having to land the usual hefty rawk punches, Struck Matches bristles with inventiveness, whilst Trying is an effortlessly infectious organ-based hip-swinger. The energy fades after a bit (so the album’s title isn’t entirely inaccurate) but overall Constant Bop is the sound of one man enjoying a second lease of life away from his day job.
